Their guitar player is a goofy as hell looking dude.  But man, he can play!  Anyone who can play a monster like this has my respect!  I'm not sure what the deal is with it.  I know a double neck guitar is mainly for the sympathetic drone effect.  This one seems like MAJOR overkill. :)

The top neck is a 12 string, as most doublenecks are 12 on top, 6 on the bottom. As for the array of other 6 string necks, the only thing I could suggest is alternate tunings maybe?


As for the RRHF I only live a few hours from it and still have never gone. This years inductees alone shows why. If you can put Donna Fucking Summer and Public Enemy in a ROCK Hall of Fame but STILL NO KISS? STILL NO STYX? STILL NO MAIDEN? STILL NO JUDAS PRIEST? STILL NO MOTORHEAD????????

Yeah, I used to have a double, so I knew what they were all about.  The sympathetic vibrations from the 12 string while you play the 6 string neck.  Listen closely to the studio version of Stairway to Heaven and you can hear a good example.  As far as alternate tunings, I can't see where you would need that many in one song, but it's a pretty cool gimmick!

Stairway has great parts where you can here him switch between guitars.

Oh yeah, he plays both necks at different times.  But listen to the beginning when he's playing the 6 string neck.  You can hear the vibrations from the 12 string neck.  It's a really cool effect.

I don't understand their definition of rock. Donna Summer and Public Enemy I do NOT consider rock. Talented musicians, sure, but talented ROCK musicians, NO.
