Kinda interested to see just HOW the earth was taken over by primates.
If you watch the original (movie) series it explains this. It's super cheesy, but some of the best sci-fi is (Starship Troopers, anyone?).

Starship Trooper wasn't Robert Heinlein's best book.

Wait a minte...I have I Am Legend on DVD. While I'll admit it isn't the greatest movie ever made it isn't THAT bad!

Besides...it has Will Smith in it. I didn't think he was able to make a bad movie. Hell...I even enjoyed I Robot and everyone said that was a turd.

But what do I know. I still list The Adventures of Ford Fairlane and UHF as two of the greatest cinema masterpieces ever made.

UHF was awesome.

I agree. But I do like the movie. Unfortunately between Top Gun and Starship Troopers are the most common movies the boat showed while was deployments. It's going to take me 10 years to watch those movies again.

I also liked Starship Trooper. I'd like to see Time Enough For Love or Stranger In A Strange Land be made into movies.

When I was on the Nimitz, Final Countdown was on at least once a week. The ship received a copy from the producers after they finished filming.

Never saw it on the boat. It should be part of the required watching like Top Gun.

True. Though on every deployment someone will always play the song Final Coutdown when we leave the ditch or leave the Gulf.

I allegedly use to take pictures of the west bank of the ditch. Gun emplacements galore. Leaving the Gulf was always a reason to celebrate. I hated it there, especially riding back and forth across the Straits of Hormuz.

Did you get any of your underlings to be the monkey watch?

...on a different note, I now got Final Countdown stuck in my head.

Not going to bother to see it. Supposedly there are no real apes in the entire movie. When CGI takes over on everything, I lose interest.

Mail bouy watch was a favorite in the Gulf. We had those pesky sea bats in the helo hangar on the frigate.
