How exactly do newly elevated apes (Alzhimer meds + chimp = evolution?) take over earth from the most advanced species on the planet? It doesn't seem to make much sense.

Hollywood and big pharma plots are crap. See I am Legend for another turd of an explanation for human apocalypse.

THANK YOU.

God, that movie was awful.  Thankfully, it was a great first date.

I'll interpret that bolded part to mean you were too busy doing other things to pay much attention to the movie. If so, good for you. Plus, it makes me nostalgic to think of movie first dates - brings back memories of my high school and college years.....

McAvoy, having read the novel before seeing the movie, it just reinforced that much more how much of a turd it was. I will admit to being interested in some of the visual shots about NY 3 years later, and enjoying the one scene when the dog chases the deer into a building, but the rest of it was a huge, HUGE pile of buffalo dung.

Do what I do if you really need to watch it. Get drunk. Either it will be somewhat more enjoyable or you take a nap.

Well, we did have a lengthy and amusing conversation about dildos.  I guess he decided I was a keeper after that one.

*Sagely Nod* The Dildo Conversation is the deal maker or breaker.

Of course doing so to freak the mean older lady in front of you may add to it...*grins evilly* we made her run out of the theater.

Not bad, not bad at all.

I had some epic makeout sessions in movie theaters back in my day.

Good times.....

Wait a minte...I have I Am Legend on DVD. While I'll admit it isn't the greatest movie ever made it isn't THAT bad!

Besides...it has Will Smith in it. I didn't think he was able to make a bad movie. Hell...I even enjoyed I Robot and everyone said that was a turd.

But what do I know. I still list The Adventures of Ford Fairlane and UHF as two of the greatest cinema masterpieces ever made.

Uh, that Wild Wild West movie was another turd brought to you by Smith. But read the I Am Legend book and see how you think it compares to the movie. For me, they were miles apart, with the boook being loads better. The movie had some interesting set pieces and photgraphy, but other than that.......

Hell...I even enjoyed I Robot and everyone said that was a turd.

I'd rate that a C to C- on a grading scale. It had some entertainment value, but some of the movie (robotic arm?) was really stupid if you ask me (of course, I never read the book for comparison)

I dunno. The whole car chase scene with the twirling Lexus was just a bit too much. When movies defy reality tooooo much (yes, they tend to defy as a general rule, but I mean really defy reality as in melting shoes and stupid shit like that) I just can't watch them.

I can watch that part. I generally do not like CGI placed all over the place in movies.

I watched the last Indiana Jones movie last night for example. In the opening where in the previous three we see a mountain representing Paramount. Well in the last movie was a CGI mound of dirt with I think groundhogs. I mean seriously. Couldn't just zoom out on one of the moutains in the distance. Would have been cheaper. That CGI shot probably cost the movie $100,000.

I think another Indiana Jones is already in the works. Let's hope it is better. The only scene worthy in that last one was the chase leading up to the deadly ant stampede. The rest was pretty bad. But, that's not too shocking.
