Baby Bunny
« on: May 22, 2011, 08:54 pm »
There are some baby bunnies in my backyard. Often, they come every year, at least one nest or two. They're brown with pointy ears and very cute. We found one today. He/She was terrified! Anyway, we seen this cat skulking about, it's there everyday. I'm sure it's there for the babies. I want to save the one we found. (We did let him/her go.) I'm considering adopting the baby - there's cats all over the place here and this one cat keeps returning every day. (It's a black cat with white front paws.) Our dog seen it and is searching for it. I'm sure it'll be OK from my dog, but I'm not sure about the cat.

So, questions;

Is it possible to tame the bunny? I don't think it's being milked anymore. It was off hopping around on it's own and we can't find a nest. We did tame some before (but MOST died except for one.)

My heart goes out to it. Since we can't find it's brothers/sisters, we're concerned the cat has already killed...

I would think you could tame it if you keep it warm.  Keep it next to your skin.  IMO it will die if you put it in a cage.  Keep it in your underwear.  I had one once that I carried round for weeks.

Feed him a high protein diet (I gave mine scrambled egg, few rabbit pellets, grass and fruit).

Good luck.

I found several Roaming Rabbits before. Few, or at least 4 or 5, were wild rabbits in the woods. I've also seen a few people leave their rabbits
roaming in the yards.

Sounds like rabbit stew on the hoof to me.
