Formal Introduction
« on: February 27, 2011, 07:00 pm »
Most of the big guys in here know me already, but i might as well post somewhere else every once in a while!

I'm a strict vegan, haven't eaten meat in 2 years (i suppose i'm a bit young to the fight).

I do a lot of volunteering with PETA and VeganOutreach. I don't hate meat eaters, i just think my food is better  ;)

speaking of which, i'm really in to cooking. I hope to open up a vegan restaurant in the future, one that contends with the big names in the restaurant world!

I'm also a bit of a body builder. Really been trying to bulk up lately just to avoid the 'skinny vegan' stereotype.

dunno if i can bring much to the forum, i mainly registered to say what i've already said. might lurk and post recipes every now and then...

We have other boards you can lurk and post in.
There's a whole Off-Topic section, along with Art, Electronics, Sports, Cars, News, and so on (but I'm sure you've lurked and found them).
You're welcome to creep and post as you like.  Contrary to popular belief, we do enjoy having opposing viewpoints here as long as we can all share and play nice.

Hi, well we have a few other vegans so you are not alone there.

I'm really glad you had the balls to join us.  Contrary to popular belief we actually DO accept vegan/vegetarian and AR members.  We probably won't agree with you, but if you can tolerate us we can tolerate you.

Welcome to pes.

I think grocery stores should have a separate room for animal products where people under 18 are not permitted; Similar to a "porn room" at a video store. They should also have a separate check out counter and "discrete" packaging.

Meat eaters will always be welcome!

I don't consider my food a success unless everyone likes it. There will be no fake cheeses or meats in my restaurant... though i do have a great recipe for vegan mac and cheese!

Oh, but it's not all just veggies!

We've got fruits, beans, grains, pastas, and seeds...

plus, cutting out entire food groups (meat and dairy) really pushes you to explore more food options.

I've had the most exotic food since i switched! i mean, when you think about it, most people's diets revolve around 10 or 12 basic meals. not to say you can't get fancy with meat...

what i'm trying to say is... i eat good!

Howdy and welcome formally to PS.

As we have seemed to gained more vegan members I put some boco burgers/brats in the fridge. Marked with a big red V so no mix up. Soda/milk/juice/beer's in the mini-fridge, ask before you can take some Woodchuck and waters on tap.

Again, welcome, creep, post, and have a good time.

i love me a portabella burger!

and to tell you the truth, i'm not that big a fan of salads! MAYBE if the salad has a bunch of apple chunks, nuts, and raisins... otherwise, i'll pass.

not to say i don't like leafy greens. kale or spinach go great in fruit smoothies (green smoothies) and i'm always down for some collard greens.

My version of a salad:  lettuce (Romaine or iceburg), drown it in French or Ranch (ranch requires croutons and cucumbers), and  dressing.
Yum.

I'm pathetic.

Ok, you bring some collard greens (which I can never seem to make right) and I'll let you in my WoodChuck supply.
