It's a very sad situation. I thank the people who work to restore wildlife every day. It just sort of puts into perspective who the true animal heroes are.

It is indeed a sad situation. I give a lot of praise to those folks trying to save the oil soaked wildlife - it must seem somewhat of a futile effort, but I think they are doing a very honorable thing.

While I'm not rolling in the dough, I was hoping to find a group to donate some funds to in order to help out since I'm so far away from it all. Any suggestions?

I was reading the other day  about an animal shelter that is bulging at the seams because of the fisherman who can no longer afford to keep their pets.  They were looking for donations.  If you're interested in that, I could probably find the article again.
