Setting up hard drives

In a nutshell: I have two hard drives, both connected to a mobo via SATA cables- my primary, now fucked, is connected to the SATA 1 port. I can see no jumper pins on the hard drives (Seagate barracudas) to deliniatd master/slave. Will just unplugging the fucked primary and plugging the second in to the SATA 1 port automatically assign it as the primary?
