The whole thing is very sad. And the fucking ara assholes are just having a field day running down all us "dumb hillbilly's" here in Zanesville. Kiss my ass, ALL fucking ara's.
Fuck them. The stupid fucks owuldn't know what to do, just get in the way and probably eaten (like Bear Chow Treadwell). One thing that will need sorting later though is why in the hell does someone need to have this many dangerous animals in one location? I'm not all that knowledgable on the situation, but it does seem a bit odd, even if there is a perfect explanation for it.
To each his own. I don't have a problem with someone owning that many animals as long as they can take care of him.

All have been accounted for. The official word is there were 56 all together. Out of those, I believe 6 were captured.
It pisses me off how the Sheriff and his deputies are being portrayed as a bunch of hillbilly's who enjoyed the killing. One of my clients is a pretty high profile kind of person here, and he had the opportunity to talk to a few that were involved. Everyone that participated in the shootings seemed pretty torn up over it. NONE of them liked doing it. But it had to be done. This is a town so small that no matter where you are, you can get anyplace in town in about 10 minutes. There were over 50 dangerous animals, including Bengal Tigers, Lions, Black Bears, Grizzly's, Wolves, and Mountain Lions roaming around. And yes, many were right in town. One of the lions was seen about a block away from where i live, and a bear just a few blocks away. Night was quickly approaching. One of them, not sure but I think it was one of the lions, was shot with a tranquilizer but it didn't "take" fast enough, and so the animal was killed. I mean, what the fuck do these asshole ara's think should have been done? You really think if one of them had been here and run across a fucking grizzly they would have just petted it and made friends?
I still have mixed feelings about Terry. Lot of people think he was murdered, not matter what the coroner is saying. I don't know, as I said before I didn't know him. I had just met him a few times. I know he had just got out of prison, to find his wife had left him for someone else while he was away. Not that that's an excuse for anything at all, just thought that should be mentioned.

So his wife left? If his wife left after his inprisonment he must have been depressed. Maybe that's why he let the animals out. People do stupid things sometimes for stupid reasons.

Let the ARAs spout off on this - it'll make them seem callous and stupid. Everyone else, and I mean EVERYONE is saying that it sucks, but the order of things is as follows:
1. Public safety 2. Animal safety
So yeah, given that these were not cuddly vegan bobcats, deadly force had to be used. And frankly, my response to the ARAs would be: "Please give me your name and address so the next time this happens, we can air drop you into the site with a tranq gun so you can tranq these defenseless and harmless cuddly wuddly animals."
One thing that will need sorting later though is why in the hell does someone need to have this many dangerous animals in one location? I'm not all that knowledgable on the situation, but it does seem a bit odd, even if there is a perfect explanation for it.

And yeah, it was automatic weapons supposedly, I don't know what they were exactly. He also had some that had short barrels, shorter than legal anyway.

I'm trying to get as much information as I can. Like I said, this is a small town, and I really don't want a bunch of ara loonies coming here. Well maybe I do, people around here aren't too fond of PeTA and their ilk anyway.

There is even talk of maybe murder. The guy was in prison for a year on owning illegal weapons or something.
Automatic weapons. Speculation will run rampant. Bluze will probably be able to give us better info than the press.

They aren't saying much really.
Too many things don't add up. From all reports, he really loved his animals. Seems a bit of a reach that he would have released only the dangerous ones, knowing they very likely would be killed. But if he DID kill himself, obviously he wasn't thinking too rationally about anything.
Heart failure is true of most deaths. Hard to say what happened. Investigations aren't usually done in an hour. Could be 'tards for all we know.

A bear was seen just about a block away last night. From what I've heard, there are only about 3 still running around. Don't even know what to be honest.
There is a lot more to the story than they're telling right now. It was reported that he killed himself, then that story was recanted. I know the guy had some problems with the law. He had somewhat of a reputation, but this is a small town, and if you ever get in trouble for ANYTHING, people never forget. Or forgive most of the time. I know I used to like driving by the place, he had some llamas and stuff that were always out where you could see them. I never saw any of the "dangerous" animals though.
If the report that which he killed himself was recanted, then how did he die?
Heart failure.

H$U$
Thinking of donating to H$U$?
Someone who takes Wendy Malick or Wayne Pacelle up on their infomercial request for "just $19 dollars a month" will pay HSUS $228 over the course of a year. Of that, just $1.03 will reach a pet shelter.
