doglady' fries.

ingredients:  Potatoes, pork fat.

definitely not vegan, but they could be if they were fired in canola oil instead.

No wonder McD's fries taste like crap.

Yes, I know they used to fry it in tallow but either way it is not vegan as it has milk ingredients as well.
Never said it was, champ. What I said was there is no beef fat in the fries

French Fries:
Potatoes, vegetable oil (canola oil, hydrogenated soybean oil, natural beef flavor [wheat and milk derivatives]*, citric acid [preservative]), dextrose, sodium acid
pyrophosphate (maintain color), salt. Prepared in vegetable oil (Canola oil, corn oil, soybean oil, hydrogenated soybean oil with TBHQ and citric acid added to
preserve freshness). Dimethylpolysiloxane added as an antifoaming agent.
CONTAINS: WHEAT AND MILK *(Natural beef flavor contains hydrolyzed wheat and hydrolyzed milk as starting ingredients).

Well, guys, I decided that their must be a reason why the vegans which I know in my reality would consider McDonald's French fries to be 'vegan'. See, I think it has to do with the simple fact that I reside in Canada, and apparently, our ingredients for McDonald's fries are vegan unless I misread something.

Canadian McDonald's Fries consist of;

Potatoes, canola oil, hydrogenated soybean oil, safflower oil, natural flavour, (vegetable source), dextrose, sodium acid pryophasate (maintain colour), citric acid, (preservative), dimethylpolysiloxane (anti foaming agent), and cooked in vegetable oil. (Canola oil, corn oil, soybean oil, hydrogentated soybean oil with THBQ, citric acid and  dimethylpolysiloxane).

Here's the source if you want proof: http://www.mcdonalds.ca/pdfs/IngredientFactsEN.pdf

Therefore, the McDonald's French Fries of Canada ARE vegan - we failed to take the different countries we live in into account. Which would explain WHY the vegans I know in my reality decide to eat McDonald's Fries.

Natural beef flavor? Isn't that an oxymoron??

Typically, the use of "natural" when referring to ingredients/aspects of any processed food is a major oxymoron.

His source is there, it's from the McDonalds website.

Well at least they are vegetarian.
It wasn't there prior. Otherwise I wouldn't have asked.

I'm aware that Mc Donald's has "natural beef flavor", however it is not fat/tallow, since as previously stated, they got criticism for it (see: lawsuit) and stopped. However, I did mess up the date and even though I did, it's still been several years since beef fat has been in fries. However for the date mess up, my apologies are offered

“In 10 years there will be more VBites restaurants than McDonald’s,” Ms. Mills said. “It’s the future.”
Among the items found on the eatery’s meatless menu are $8 “Beef  Soya Burgers,” $12 pizzas made with soy “cheese,” and $11 Greek salads.   Not exactly McDonald’s Extra Value Meal prices. And with only one   partially open restaurant in her portfolio, Ms. Mills has a long way to   go before she can even begin to compete with Ronald.

Paying more for less; a cornerstone of the veg/organic movement.

And that is what doomed the Rainforest Cafe at the mall that was near me. High price for little food.

Many vegans in my reality eat at McDonalds, usually picking fries or salads.
I'm going to have to go ahead and disagree. It is widely known in the vegan community that the fries contain beef fat (not vegan). And none of their dressings (to the best of my knowledge) are vegan.
Mc Donald's has not used beef tallow for the fries since at least the year 1995 after criticism from Hindus and vegetarians. Furthermore, she was addressing the vegans that she is aware of, so while you're welcome to have an opinion, try not to supersede it over people you are not personally aware of

Thinking of donating to H$U$?

Someone who takes Wendy Malick or Wayne Pacelle up on their infomercial request for "just $19 dollars a month" will pay HSUS $228 over the course of a year. Of that, just $1.03 will reach a pet shelter.
